I wanted to take this opportunity to formally thank ACI Medical and Dental School for assisting my wife, Shari, and myself with beginning a new career in the medical field. In August 2016, I enrolled in ACI Medical and Dental School’s Medical Assistant program which included EKG, Phlebotomy, and Patient Care Technician. By taking advantage of the post 911 G.I Bill®, ACI allowed me to re-hone my medical skills that I obtained through out my 17 years in the U.S. Army. The environment at ACI is not only military friendly, it also provided me with instructors that are experts in their field. The entire staff at ACI is always available to answer any questions and/or assist you with any problems or concerns that you may have. The education I received at ACI allowed me to gain employment at Centrastate Medical Center as a Patient Care Technician on the Progressive Care Unit. All the patients on this unit have Cardiac (heart) related conditions. The knowledge I obtained at ACI allowed me to sharpen my skills in Patient Care and EKG. These skills were recognized by Centrastate Medical Center on numerous occasions in which I received Centra Stars for going above and beyond. I’m re-attending ACI to take their Medical and Dental Administrative Assistant program with Electronic Health Records and Billing and Coding. I have no doubt in my mind that ACI will once again prove to have the expert instructors and staff, to provide me with the knowledge to gain employment, to which my clinical background and my newly acquired administrative knowledge will make me an asset to any medical facility. I can’t say enough about the program. From start to finish the staff are hands on helping the student with identifying a career path, helping to be successful in the classroom setting and then helping with career placement. They focus on the whole student and will address deficiencies immediately to make sure that they get addressed early on, so that everyone is successful. They have a high success rate and from what I’ve seen they have a high success rate of graduates finding employment either prior to or shortly after graduation. They have reasonable classroom sizes. They have tutoring available twice a week. 6 weeks of the program is done in the classroom, then 6 weeks in clinical rotation, along with an internship. The staff really goes above and beyond to make sure that the student’s experience is positive. I can personally attest to one of my veterans going through this program and being successful. He is 100% service connected for PTSD and other physical injuries (not unemployable) and was able to be successful in this academic setting. The instructors helped to make sure that his experience in the classroom was so that he wasn’t uncomfortable and decrease the number of stressors he was under. This allowed him to be successful. He was then placed at CentraState Hospital where during his internship they offered him a job. He had a job before he even completed the certification program.

We take pride in offering medical and dental training for veterans and military service members and their families.

Our VA Training Programs for Healthcare Careers

We offer three VA-approved primary programs that give veterans the skills required for in-demand careers in the growing medical and dental fields.

These programs can be completed in 14 weeks of daytime classes or 29 weeks of night classes. Each of these programs also requires the completion of a 180-hour internship, a critical part of career preparation that allows veterans to apply their new skills in a real job setting and can provide a recommendation for employment.

Support Services for Veterans

We take pride in making our school a military-friendly institution and helping veterans benefit from our medical and dental training programs. We also offer services to help students navigate the complexities of military benefits in relation to educational programs.

  • Financial Aid. Our financial aid department is ready to help all veteran and military students learn about how Post-9/11 GI Bill® benefits work, who is eligible, and how to apply. We also accept Federal Direct Loans (FAFSA) for eligible students.
  • Career Assistance Program. Our veteran students are offered a lifetime of career services upon enrollment, including access to our Career Assistance Program (CAP), where we train students in writing resumes and cover letters, starting the job search, and more.
  • Fully Accredited Programs. Our school is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Secondary Schools, or MSA-CESS. Students who complete the program will be certified through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).

Important Information for Veterans

Who is Eligible For the Post-9/11 GI Bill®?

The Post-9/11 GI Bill® is a federal program that provides educational benefits for people who served in active duty after September 10th, 2001.

You may be eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® if you meet the following criteria:

  • You served in active duty for at least 90 days after September 10th, 2001.
  • You were honorably discharged from active duty due to a service-related disability after having served 30 continuous days after September 10th, 2001.

MYCAA Benefits for Military Spouses

The My Career Advancement Account Scholarship is a workforce development program that provides up to $4,000 of tuition assistance to eligible military spouses, including:

  • Spouses of service members on active duty in pay grades E-1 to E-5, W-1 to W-2 and O-1 to O-2 who have successfully completed high school and have the ability to request tuition assistance while their military sponsor is on Title 10 military orders.
  • Spouses married to members of the National Guard and reserves in these same pay grades are eligible.

Spouses can visit the My Career Advancement Account Scholarship website and provide the required Spouse Profile information to determine eligibility.
