Healthcare Programs for High School Graduates
We offer two primary programs that give high school graduates the skills required for in-demand careers in the growing medical and dental fields.
- Medical Assistant Certification Program
- with Phlebotomy, EKG, and Patient Care Technician.
- Students who complete this program will be certified through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) and prepared to work in a variety of healthcare settings. Students will learn how to perform EKGs and phlebotomy procedures, manage patient electronic health records (EHR), and more.
- Dental Assistant Training Program
- with Radiology.
- Students who complete this program will be certified in radiation health and safety through the Dental Assistant National Board Examination and licensed in radiology through the New Jersey Environmental Protection Agency.
These programs can be completed in 14 weeks of daytime classes or 29 weeks of night classes. Each of these programs also requires the completion of an internship, a critical part of career preparation that allows veterans to apply their new skills in a real job setting and can provide a recommendation for employment. Internships are 180 hours for day classes and 100 hours for evening classes.
Why Choose A Trade School Over College?
Attending a career training or trade school in New Jersey instead of a four-year college can be a smart choice for several reasons:
- Specialized Training: Trade schools focus on specific trades or fields, offering tailored education for your chosen career.
- Faster Entry into Workforce: Technical programs at career training schools are shorter, allowing you to start working and earning sooner.
- Cost-Efficient: Tuition is often lower, helping you avoid heavy student loan debt.
- Hands-On Learning: Many programs emphasize practical experience.
- High-Demand Jobs: Technical skills are in demand, offering job security and growth potential.
- Certifications: You can earn industry-recognized certifications.
- Flexible Schedules: Some schools offer evening and weekend classes.
- Small Classes: Enjoy more personalized attention from instructors.
- Networking: Build connections with local businesses and potential employers.
- Career Change or Advancement: Quickly gain skills for a new career or advance in your current one. For example, you can use your certification to continue on a career path to nursing or dental hygiene.
Consider these factors to make an informed choice about your post-graduation path based on your goals and preferences.
