At ACI Medical & Dental School, all of our students complete a 180-hour on-site internship as part of their chosen program.

The internship is a great opportunity for hands-on training at a healthcare facility and will help prepare the student for an in-demand career in the medical or dental field.

Monmouth County Patient Care Technician Training (PCT)

Conveniently located in Eatontown, NJ, ACI Medical & Dental School offers a Medical Assistant Certification program that equips students with the expertise needed to become Certified Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) in just five months. Our program provides hands-on training with advanced medical equipment in our on-site lab. With PCT job opportunities projected to grow by 5% by 2031, now is an excellent time to step into this in-demand field!

Our 180-Hour Patient Care Technician Internship

Each student is placed at a clinical site for a 180-hour internship where they will be mentored and trained by experienced professionals. This internship provides valuable experience, enhances resumes, and helps students develop the practical skills required for a successful career.

Internship details:

  • Scheduled based on clinical site availability
  • Held Monday through Friday
  • Evening students complete a 100-hour internship

What Does a Monmouth County Patient Care Technician (PCT) Do?

Patient Care Technicians support nurses and other healthcare providers by assisting with daily patient care and medical tasks. They play a key role in ensuring patient comfort and well-being in healthcare environments.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and recording vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, etc.)
  • Assisting with patient mobility (lifting, repositioning, transfers)
  • Providing personal care (bathing, dressing, feeding)
  • Performing EKGs, drawing blood, and other basic medical procedures
  • Offering emotional support and companionship
  • Keeping patient areas clean and safe
  • Reporting any changes in a patient’s condition to medical staff
