Students in this ACI’s phlebotomy training program will learn the required skills to become a Phlebotomy Technician, also referred to as a Phlebotomist. Knowledge will be attained in hematology, blood vessels, patient safety, emergency first aid, and principles of infection control. Hands on clinical skills in phlebotomy and other clinical competencies will be mastered in an on-site laboratory. This comprehensive career readiness course provides the student with the education necessary to become a Certified Phlebotomy Technician through the National Healthcareer Association Examination. Additionally, our Career Readiness Program assists in the preparation for the student to enter the medical field as an entry-level Phlebotomy Technician.
Students enrolled in our phlebotomy training program learn:
- Academic knowledge required to pass certification testing
- Hands-on clinical skills including obtaining blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary techniques
- Anatomy and physiology related to phlebotomy and laboratory testing
- Knowledge of the healthcare system and patient records
