I just wanted to take a few minutes to extend my heartfelt thanks and sincere appreciation to Dr. Mamdouh Sorial. As you may already know, making a career change is never easy and in my case, changing from a legal environment after nearly 30 years to a healthcare career is a profound challenge but one I need to make now to have an opportunity to fully succeed in my professional life. With the confidence and comfort established during those years in the legal field, it’s not a decision I made overnight. With the support of my family and a few close friends, I truly believe this will yield the long term career goals I’ve set for myself.
Doctor Mamdouh has been an amazing teacher and mentor. His genuine concerns for success while demonstrating a humane side to the profession is truly a rare commodity in today’s world. Our class has people of all ages and backgrounds yet his approach consistently connects with each one of us on a human level. That caring needs to be appreciated as that aspect of the process is what captures our emotions and translates into sustained effort and the success we all seek. Please understand too that he has the special ability to introduce the fun side of life at just the right time so we can relax and focus. Our class is very fortunate to have Dr. Mamdouh as our teacher.
As I’ve mentioned to my son on numerous occasions, “there are two people who make the most positive impact in your life, your parents and your teachers”. At the age of 14, he may not realize this now but he will later in life and he will remember my words. I just want to say that Dr. Mamdouh will be the last teacher that I will have, and being both a doctor and a teacher is a special gift… a gift that he is passing onto me and my classmates. That special experience will be with me for the balance of my life and surely never forgotten. I am most grateful to Dr. Mamdouh.
