On Monday, Amazon launched Transcribe Medical, a transcription service designed to improve documentation in healthcare settings. This new service will allow medical professionals to convert spoken dictation directly into text, and enter it automatically into electronic health record (EHR) systems. This means that doctor/patient conversations and any other important spoken information during a visit can be taken down verbatim as it happens, reducing the risk of transcription errors and improving patient care.
This new service from Amazon is the latest innovation in a rapidly growing field. Electronic Health Records are more important to healthcare facilities than ever as traditional paper charts are being phased out.
