“You’re never too old to learn!”

How did your education at ACI help you during the interview process?

“After holding the same job for 15 years, the lessons I learned during the Career Assistance Program (CAP) of how to conduct myself on an interview was invaluable. The most valuable part for me was learning how my past experiences relate to my new career, and sharing that on an interview.”

What was the support like from the ACI Staff?

“I found all of the staff at ACI to be helpful and genuinely caring. Most importantly, Karen and Sally were able to help me regain my confidence.”

What was the biggest lesson you learned while attending Advantage Career Institute?

“The biggest lesson I learned while attending ACI was that “I can do this!”. No matter how old you are or what obstacles are in front of you, in time, there is a way to conquer them and better educate yourself. It does help when the right people are in your path, just as they were at ACI. My journey is just beginning!”

How did your education at ACI help you during the interview process?

“Even though my interview wasn’t exactly how I anticipated it would be handled from the perspective of the employer, I was able to apply what I learned in the Career Assistance Program. That is, to expect the unexpected, and put your best foot forward. It also helped to allow me to feel more relaxed by being prepared with my own questions, and how to properly answer the employer’s questions.”

What was the support like from the ACI Staff?

“The support from the ACI staff was phenomenal! Every question and concern I had (and I had a lot!) were answered. They made me feel at home; they were very kind, full of information, and I miss them!”

I absolutely love being with the patients, answering their questions, helping them….it is very rewarding especially when they turn around and thank me with a smile! I love my job and my co-workers especially!!”

What was the biggest lesson you learned while attending Advantage Career Institute?

“The biggest lesson I have learned coming to ACI is that I am capable of having a career!  I never thought I would be on track to have my own career after graduating high school.  I am looking forward to continuing my education in the dental field to become a Dental Hygienist.  I didn’t even know what a Dental Hygienist was until I came to ACI and became a Dental Assistant and got my X-ray License.”

How did your education at ACI help you during the interview process?

“The CAP (Career Assistance Program) helped me tremendously during my interviews.  The entire time I was on the interview, I was thinking about everything Karen and Jeanne taught me to say and what not to say during an interview.  I was even taking note of how the interviewer was presenting herself and trying to learn from her.  The knowledge about the interview processKaren and Jeanne shared with me was invaluable.”

What was the support like from the ACI Staff?

The support from the staff was tremendous during the time I attended school and even after I completed.  Once again, Karen and Jeanne in Career Services were there every step of the way to answer questions I had about my internship as well as my job search.  I couldn’t have done it without them.  And, not to mention my Dental Assistant instructor, Miss Alvarez.  Her knowledge about the Dental industry was invaluable, and she taught me the skills I needed in order to succeed.

Tell us your favorite part about your new career.

My favorite part of my new career is the fact that I get to work alongside Dentists.  I thrive on that hands-on exposure.  I also very much enjoy working and interacting with patients to help make them feel comfortable during their visit.
